Seeding Rate: For a pure stand, approximately 2 PLS LB per acre can be used. When included in a native seed mix, 0.25–0.5 PLS LB per acre is recommended, depending on the desired percentage of Mexican Hat in the mix.

Planting Depth: Plant approximately 1/4–1/2 inch deep.

Soil: Mexican Hat is adaptable to sandy loam, loam, clayey loam, rocky, gravelly, and sandy soils. It performs best in well-drained sites and has relatively low to moderate water requirements.

Sunlight: Full sun is preferred.

Days to Maturity: Mexican Hat is a perennial wildflower and may take more than one growing season to become fully established. Plants commonly begin flowering in the second year when established from seed.
